HILO
Hilo, curated by Lucy Hewett, presents the work of three emerging photographers threaded together by their experience of Mexico. Identity, belonging, family and self-expression are explored while they periodically inhabit the country both emotionally and physically. Using photography as a bridge, the work examines connections and how they are made, sustained and broken.
The images shown here are by Carolina Rodriguez, drawn from a body of work that explores her relationship to her 92 year old Abuelita, the dynamics within her extended family, and her experience of Mexico.
